Sally Miller
Sally Miller, Executive Director

Sally is the Executive Director of Parkwood Village. She has been with Bell Senior Living since January 2005. After graduating in 1970 from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Sally, an Eastern North Carolina native, began a long career in working with senior adults. Her various positions are many -- including DSS Case Worker; DSS Adult Homes Specialist; Director of Patient & Family Services at Beaufort County Hospital for 15 years; Corporate Director of Admissions for a major nursing home chain; Regional Sales / Marketing Manager for a major assisted living chain; and an Administrator at three assisted living communities prior to coming to Parkwood Village. Sally also spent a few years as the Director of Music at two churches and worked in fine jewelry for a well-known department store. She has one son and one daughter, as well as one grandson and one granddaughter. Other than spending time with her grandchildren and working, Sally loves to play the piano, cook and collect cookbooks.


Tammy Felver
Tammy Felver, Director of Resident Care

Tammy is the director of Resident Care. She has been with Parkwood Village since September 2009. She graduated from the LPN program of Wayne Community College in 2001. Tammy has 6 years experience working in assisted living and is currently attending Wayne Community College to complete her Associate Degree in Nursing. She will graduate as a RN in May 2010. She did not intend on working with Geriatrics upon finishing nursing school but has found out there is no other place that she would rather be. She was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Tammy has been married to her husband, Chip for almost 19 years. They have one son Trey who is 11 years old. Tammy enjoys shopping, fishing and collecting teddy bears.


Brenda Barnes
Brenda Barnes, Business Office Manager

Brenda Barnes joined the Parkwood Staff in January 2009. Brenda earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Wilson Community College in 2008 and is now completing her degree in Business Administration. Brenda worked for Dr. John McCain for ten years as Office Manager until his death in 2005. Brenda is originally from Lucama and now resides in Wilson with her husband, Steve, two daughters and three grandchildren. During her spare time she enjoys working on the Drag Racing Pit Crew for her husband and her daughter who is a Junior Dragster Driver.


Maria N. Allen
Maria N. Allen, Director of Activities

Maria joined Parkwood Village in May 2007 as the Director of Activities. She earned a B.A. in Religion from Chowan University. Maria has a passion for working with senior adults and loves what she does. She has enhanced the Volunteer Program while at Parkwood Village and has a variety of crafts, entertainment, cooking classes, literature and lots of other activities to keep the residents busy and enjoying their life at Parkwood Village. A native of Wilson, North Carolina, Maria, her husband, David, and their new son, Parker still reside there.


Peggy Maharaj
Peggy Maharaj, Director of Food & Beverage

Peggy has been the Director of Food & Beverage at Parkwood Village prior to its opening in Novemeber 2004. She grew up in Rocky Mount where she attended and graduated from the public school system. Peggy went to work at Stephenson’s Bar-B-Que and stayed with them for 5 years. She wanted to further her career and had an opportunity to go to New York to Nathan’s Restaurant to train as a Manager and she took the chance and stayed with them for 6 years. She is Ser-Safe Certified and is also in school to become a Certified Dining Services Manager.


Kenneth Amerson
Kenneth Amerson, Director of Maintenance

Kenneth Amerson joined the Parkwood Staff in January 2009. Kenneth has over thirty years experience in Maintenance and has a thorough knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry and Painting. He previously worked for a major nursing home chain, Barton College and Sheraton Hotel. Kenneth has his certification in Heavy E.Q., HVAC, and C.F.C. During his spare time he enjoys fishing, camping and Nascar. Kenneth has two children and three grandchildren.
